Clydes can Climb

Wish I had some routes like some of you guys in the mountain regions have but I'll have to make do with what I have in my area. This is a ride that I really like as it has a lot of hills with a good grade, love to feel the legs work and the chest burn. Anyone in the GTA area of Ontario should give this ride a try very quiet roads and great country side to look at while riding.

You and Bean can climb. I prefer flat.

Wow, pretty good. 6:52, total time or ride time?

That's ride time could have been quicker but had brother in-law with me and it was the longest and most climbing he ever did, plus the wind was relentless blowing over 30km/h with gust of I don't know. My brother in-law was wiped at the end but it made him realize how the hard work will make you stronger and has improved a lot since then, he never had to work that hard before. He's usally not a wheel sucker but he didn't venture to far away from my wheel for the last 40k of that ride...lol I kid with him as I have a good 70lbs on his skinny butt.

Which Garmin computer did you use to compile those numbers? That seems like a pretty sweet investment

I have the 705 and actually on this ride my cadance kept cutting in and out but ended up being a loose battery cover, I now check it every time I ride.

a skinny buddy invited me over a couple Saturdays ago for a casual ride and took me out on this little jewel.... made me rethink my decision to go with 52/39 (really could have used my previous compact on the ones above 10% grade). That said, climbing is an enjoyable challenge.. especially after it's over!

My last century back in June! My best time on the ride is 7:40 total for the timed event and 7:12 ride time. 100 miles 10,000 ft.

This pic is about 75 miles into the ride. After the 8400 ft highpoint. And after all the "what the heck am I doing up here?" feeling have gone away!..Like you guys say, it's very satisfying "AFTER" it's over!
