In 91 my wife and I did our honeymoon way way out in the boonies of AK. Had to fly 50 miles from the nearest road then 2 days on horseback. 4 guys on Mt bikes had already come through on a 2 or 300 mile ride. Mind boggling. (for me anyway)

I love fatbikes. I've been wanting one for a while. The big problem is, despite the number of frame makers- there's really only one fatbike tire in production right now. The Surly Endomorph. It's $95! People try various downhill tires from time to time, but they're really just too heavy.

A set of Large Marges all laced up with tires will set you back nearly $600 before you even get to the bike.

But if that amount of money doesn't make you flinch, Moots makes a really nice titanium fatbike.

I could use one...
we don't normally get alot of snow in western Nebraska...
the Pine Ridge would be ripe for the taking!!!
well at least it would be tick free in the winter cause it sure isn't now... (a learned downside to mountain biking, don't get many ticks scootin down HWY 385... or any highway unless I am doing something wrong...)
