*w-i-d-e* 29er mountain bike rims...

I recently "upgraded" to some wider rims on my 'cross/commuter/tourer/gravel road racer. I really like how it spreads the tire casing out on the 35C tires I run. Makes the bike feel much more stable.

I'd like to switch to something wider than the CR18s and EN24s I currently run on my 29ers. Anybody have any recommendations?

The Salsa Semi and Gordo rims look like they might work, but they're really expensive and have none of the internal bracing that my favorite rims have- although I'm not sure this makes much of a difference.

The Sun EQ27 might work for you. 27mm width and only $40.
I don't know about prices for them, but the Sun MTX33 (33mm width) has a 29er size available.

Salsa Gordos are friggn' bomb proof. I have them on a rigid 29er. I'm 285. They don't ever, ever flex.
The tires I put on them expanded about 15% or more in volume. Good writeups on Gordos here:

The Sun MTX33 Clifton mentioned is even burlier. Check out the review here:

I'm having Mike build me up a wheelset with these right now.

The absolute widest are Kris Holm. Made for unicycles, lots of big clyde freeriders and downhillers use the 38mm size. The 47mm are usually on snow bikes.
