I was a fast Clyde!

Thought I'd share a bit of Clydesdale success...

Just competed in the New Zealand Club National Championships for the first time.

Took on the TT race.

Been training for it for a full year and my goal was to break 40km/hr for the race. But this was something I hadn't done ever in any of the lead up events - so I was getting worried that it would never happen.

But surprise surprise - in the event - I got the bike rolling and was able to stay there.

Finished the 25km event with an average of 41.5km/hr and in 6th place.

Very very happy with that. Especially when I'm was on my road bike with clip on aerobars - and all those ahead (and most behind me) were on sexy looking TT bikes.

Trying to figure how I can afford a custom Zinn TT bike now...

Yee haa!!

Adrian.

Impressive - that's a very fast speed to maintain over that distance! Congrats!

How far back were you? - Nevermind....

So do you think you'll make him (the winner) nervous if you had an actual TT bike?

And here's a few pics of lead up and a couple at the event. Didn't get one of me on the course unfortunately.

Holy cow!!!! 15.5 miles at 25 MPH. That is impressive!!!!! Great job.

I can only manage about 21 MPH over 3 miles (33.8 KPH over 4.8 km)

Here's the results... https://www.bikenz.org.nz/Resource.aspx?ID=6894

I don't know how much difference the TT bike would make. Hopefully a lot...

Don't think I'll be troubling the winners just yet - but it's a work in progress...
