velo orange has seatposts with longer rails that would work nicely with a brooks: https://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...g-setback.html

I have 3 B17's and have anywhere between 1 to 4 inches of drop on my bikes with zero butt issues.
Just give it a try, you can always sell it.

40 mile ride yesterday, was great for first 25 miles, then starting feeling the nose a bit too much. Got home and realized that it was indeed pointing up a bit (looked level on trainer, but was not). I adjusted it down a bit, but did not ride after. Will ride this week.
All in all, I am pleased with the saddle. Feels a bit more broken in now, but can tell it will take a couple more long rides to get the feel right, as well as slight adjustments on the road, forgot wrench at home. No numbness, no pain, just not super comfortable yet. I was a bit faster, but do not think that was do to the saddle (would be nice if it was though).

IME, I tilt the nose up more than any other saddle I've used. If I feel the nose, I'm either sliding forward or the seat's set too far back and I'm creeping up when I pull up on the pedals. Remember the tools so you can adjust on the fly.

I really like the Velo Orange Seatpost wih my Brooks B17. https://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...g-setback.html. This morning I took the Cross Check out on it's first long ride. (30 miles) @ the 5 mile mark I started feeling a little more pressure on the nose than I like. So I stopped, loosened the rear 1 turn and tightened the front 1 turn. Took maybe a minute. It's also the first seatpost that I didn't have the seat jammed as far back as possible. With a 30 mm setback I finally have room to actually adjust the seat to where I want it.

incazzare.
You WANT the nose slightly up. If you're very interested in setting up your Brooks, come over to the C&V forum and ask there. We can help you out. I also do not recommend cutting off the skirt.

I've ridden on a Team Pro for years and a Colt for a long time as well. Never had any numbness issues. Just a bit of butt aching until I got a few miles on them is all I've ever had. Getting ready to put a B17 on the tandem now. Can't stand the pleather thing that it came with.
I find I am happiest with my saddle as dead-level as possible.

Good info guys - thanks! I had moments of thinking it was too far back, but then moments where it felt good to sit further back, hmm...
Skirt is gone, drilled holes, re-laced. (all leather just below Brooks emblem gone) Time will tell if this was bad idea or not. Unfortunately a lot of the fun for me is trying new things, failing, and trying again. Hopefully learning something new along the way.
