Struggling to get many miles in this month what with diary commitments and relentless rain. Today was the first day in a long time when I had both reasonable weather and an empty diary. Cut the potential route a little shorter in the hope of catching my wife on her way home from work but got delayed by three consecutive sets of lights meaning she beat me home by less than 5 minutes. Oh well...

Been absent for a while... Writing my thesis and traveling for family issues the first wee or so of the month.
However, I am excited to say:
6/10: 25mi
6/11: 22mi
6/12: 28mi
6/13: 10mi
That puts me at 85 mtd, and 365 ytd. I am shooting for 350 for June, and another 300 for the first three weeks of July ( hopefully I can get a few 50-60 mi rides in). I will be riding RAGBRAI at the end of July, which will hopefully put me at ~1500 mi ytd. This year has been full of accomplishments so far no reason to stop now!!!

Decided to try put the effort in after I came back from holiday on the 6th, 20miles a day was my target with the exception of weekends. Down 6lb in the 8 days as of this morning, will need to check again tomorrow morning for the full effect of the 8 days but happy so far. It's been steady decreasing, Fair enough water weight etc but it's looking good if I can keep it up.

10 miles yesterday, 95 mo. Ominous talk of taking the Farmers' Market from the bike trail, and putting it in a public market space . Where will I go to get good vegetables and bad rock and roll ?

8 days off the bike. unheard of.
You know they say the longer your off the bike, the harder it gets to get on the bike.

If it makes you feel any better Isaac the weather here lately just blows! Literally, no pun intended. I missed Wednesday due to high wind warning, forcast was 30-40 sustained with gusts to 50..... they over estimated by 10 mph but still..... Then the other days this week we have had strong winds in the neighborhood of 30 mph sustained. Hopefully between now and Sunday night I'll be able to log in excess of 130 miles to get back on track.
Added 8.26 miles on 6-14 commuting in the wind.

I got 23 miles in this morning in the wind of Connecticut. Brought the June total to 200 even! On a pace to make June my hihest month yet, I got around 370 in March. Got some work to do.

250,330,350km for the last three weeks. Puts me at 930km with 2 weeks to go. A little disappointed this week as I had 3 days where I didn't do my morning ride. Sadly my kids are making it impossible to get to sleep early enough to get out of the house at 4:30am and thats the only time I have that allows a 2 hour ride during the week. Commuting every day is ok, but it really doesn't provide enough distance or challenge.
Oh well I have my 130km ride coming up tomorrow and I intend to put in some single track time when I reach the beach. 125km of road riding and then 13km of single track should do some good.

The month is only half over and I have met my goal of 200. After today I'm at 204. I'm going to go out on a limb and up the goal to 400.
