Yep. I'm in Houston, and I have a 40 mile round trip commute. Mornings are actually harder than the trip home, though, because of the humidity. My travel time on the trip home is usually 2-3 minutes faster than the a.m. ride in.
And ya just lost me.
I grew up in Upstate NY - just south of Lake Ontario. I tolerate the Houston heat because I have no choice but I'd MUCH rather ride in cooler temperatures. 50 degrees is pleasant weather to me.

Yeah no kidding. 50 degrees is awesome!!
I'll go down to 32 in fact. I've been through lower but I got freaked out by all the insane drivers driving around with fogged-up windows.
I think this winter I'll start under-32 rides though, if I can find some decent boots that work with road cleats, and get some base layers this time.

I've ridden in 101 degrees, but if it gets that warm here it's usually not very humid. I'd actually take that over 90 degrees with really high humidity.

Just got back from a 32 mile trail ride starting temp 107 Finshing temp 95 The last few miles were a killer , but I made it. Very slowly the last 5 miles. Been killer hot here in KC the last few weeks and hard to keep my self talked in to riding, most rides have been 10-15 miles in the evening after working in the heat all day. There were almost no other riders on the trail today.

I rode on the surface of the sun for a few hours. Everything was fine until I hit one of them there solar storms. Boy that did it, I was done for the day.

When I lived in Western Australia we had a small club that would meet on wednesday after work and ride out to Point Samson and back. It could have been above 100 on a few of those rides (and that was at 4.30 in the afternoon). The headwind on the way home was what really killed you.

You guys are warriors! Hopefully I can catch up. On Thursday, I ran 5 miles, then came home and immediately got on my back for another 21 miles in 88 degree weather. I thought I was a bada** until hearing about everyone elses.

Today's ride from Garmin. I am sure direct sunlight to device made it a lot hotter than actual. Guessing max right at 100-102 but it sucked anyways, mostly climbing today.

I would have a better word - insane. I rode in 105 or so air temp, with humidity over 90, and road was so hot that air over the road surface was about 116 or so. In direct sunlight, 25 miles over 1000 ft of climbing. I told myself that day - you‘re insane. Aint gonna do that any time soon again, I want to live.

~103 in Dayton yesterday at 2:30. 20 mile ride - three stops. I took it easy and made sure I was drinking plenty of water and Sports Drink mix. At 49, I didn't want to push it very far at all. It was fine.

It is the wet season over here leading up to winter. In winter the temp will drop to a minimum of about 20c. But in the hot season the temp is regularly around 40c with humidity at about 60%. I still ride in this, but only to commute. I wait until the hot season is over and the temps drop into the 30s before I consider riding fun.

Just got done with 12 days of upper 90 and low 100s, with 107f yesterday . Rode at 103, but rode indoors yesterday with 107f outdoors and 72 in the basement . I usually quit commuting above the mid 90s , but I only ride home from , not to , work .

I'm a northerner, so I'm better at 10 degrees than 100 but last weekend I rode 102 miles starting at 89 degrees and ending at 98F. Anyone who can ride for any significant distance at over 100 has my respect. I went through about a gallon of water and sports drinks and was still very thirsty when I got home.

102 a few days ago, on a borrowed bike with a coaster brake. Maybe 2-3 miles.

At 59 I have to be conscious of my heart rate. My HRM will show 75% HR max on normal days going 15mph. When the temps jump to 100* with no shade the same ride my %HRmax never gets below 87%. So I have to slow my pace to 10-12mph just to complete a 60 minute ride. Be careful. It can be dangerous.

Probably today, around 90. Shorter than normal ride for sure. Shadiest route possible. Just needed to get out and road ride.)
(But MTBing in 86-88 and humid felt worse.)

Heat? Wellit's just a thing.....like potholes and hookers. I'm from Houston Texas and live in Phoenix Arizona now, the hottest is on the north side of 118 the worst is on the north side of 118. Ya ya ya but it's a dry heat! When you can't tell what's hotter the sun or the heat off the road humidity really don't matter at that point. As far as cold I lived in Kansas for a bit and moved across state in febuary on my Harley when it was in the teens. Personally I will take the heat
