Strongly consider obtaining a blinking taillight, and use it at all times, even in the daytime. Get the brightest you can. You don't have to pay $300 like I did for a Dinotte. Even a Bike Planet Superflash Turbo is better than that little reflector you currently have. Your shop will be able to mount it on the rear underside of your rear rack. That way, it will always be visible even if you have a rack pack or are carrying something home from the store on your rear rack. I've really noticed that autos give me a lot more room since I started using a blinky.

I also run with a strobe front light during daytime also. That way, (hopefully), I'm seen by oncoming traffic and they will not make a left turn in front of me. Finally, not all the time, but when I ride in areas with a lot of street traffic, I will wear a chartreuse colored vest. Those things stand out from a mile away.

Nice bike. It's a beaut.

For a VERY GOOD rear light for $5 shipped, see this thread https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ght=ebay+light

Im not a fan of supporting Chinese knock-offs but this light is identical to the Planet Bike Super Flash that retails for $30+. I have two of these $5 lights and they work great!

Tip: Offer the seller $5 for the light. I offered $5 and the offer was accepted (I bought two),

I just ordered an Avenir Bigmouth under seat bag in large. It has a place to mount a flashing tail light. I like the idea of the rack mount, though. My suspicion is that my ample butt would obscure one at the back of the seat bag.
95% of my riding will be off road on packed gravel or packed dirt. I'm not too worried about traffic in those areas, but for the times I am on the road, the light makes perfect sense.
I also have found that a rear view mirror would be most helpful. Do you folks prefer the type that mounts on the handlebars, or the smaller, helmet-mount mirror?
