Who was that helmeted man?

Scene: Saturday night along the scenic Schuylkill, on the pathway along Kelly Drive in Philadelphia.
Me: Headed upstream
You: Headed downstream. You shout, "Jeneralist!" but I was already past you, trying to keep herd with my 12-year-old godson as he struggled with belly cramps.

You were silhouetted by the setting sun. What was it you saw -- the yellow helmet, the blue-wrapped touring bars?

Who was that mystery man?

This sounds just like one of those "missed encounters" personal ads.

Sadly, I can't post to bikeforums.craigslist.net...

Chefisaac said he'll be in Philly today in a way that made me think he wasn't there yesterday. Maybe indyfabz? Sayre?

...and my 11 year nephew is now over 50 miles over a three-day weekend here.

It also could have been Wfournier, he rides the SRT pretty regularly.

Nope, I haven't been on that part of the trail in a while.

This was my ride from Saturday: https://ridewithgps.com/trips/776661

'Twas I. Actually saw you twice--riding to, and coming back from, dinner in Manayunk. It was on the way back that I said something. I was drafting the GF. At 5' tall, she makes a good wedge.

You were riding from Center City (I presume) to dinner in Manayunk; I was going from Manayunk to dinner in Center City!

Given that as far as I recall, we've never met in real life -- how did you spot it was me?

I live near the Art Museum. Manayunk was our last choice. All the places we wanted to go outside the 'hood were booked.

You were wearing an outfit you had on in some photo that I think Neil posted a long time ago. I have a visually-oriented memory. Can't remember phone numbers all that well, but I can recognize someone from a photo I saw years ago.

Where did you eat?

Wow, that's some memory. I'm impressed!

We went to Almaz Cafe, 20th between Walnut and Sansom. Great Ethiopian food, good coffee and smoothies, and they don't mind people showing up in Lycra shorts.
