Long-time lurker, first time poster. I am 320 lbs currently and just bought a Specialized Expedition from my LBS today and loved my first ride. My question is whether or not I'm too heavy for it. My LBS has good service guys and gals and I'm aware that I should probably look into more than a 32 spoke rim. That will have to wait until I have more money.

I am only riding road and bike paths, no off road areas. Should I be safe at my weight? Thanks in advance.

looking at the website it says it has 32 spoke double wall wheels. that's more than my Specialized Sequoia and i out weigh ya a little.

i would ride it until the wheels fall off or you decide on a more road oriented bike.

Thanks for the reply. I keep seeing posts on other websites talking about how you're taking your life into your own hands if you're over 250 riding an aluminum frame. Just trying for peace of mind before I find myself 10 miles from home and praying that something doesn't break. I plan to have the LBS I bought her from take a look after 30 days of use.

3,000+ miles on my AL Trek ... and I lived to tell and am STILL riding it.

I started on a Specialized Expedition Sport at around 370-375lbs. I put 250 miles on it with zero problems on it. I think you are completely fine.
