Garage......can't even imagine the conversation to suggest one would live in the house....much less the bedroom.
Use a mix of hooks from ceiling and a "bike tree" (4x4 with base and bike hangers...both horizontal and vertical) for the bikes (bmx, cruiser, 2 fixies, 3 road and mix of unicycle, skateboards, and scooter

It lives in my car (the fixie lives in the garage) I keep it in the car so I can leave the house in the morning to get to the train station with out having to load it. When I upgrade to a Carbon bike soon, I'll probably stop doing that. If some one steals my $600 Aluminum sixteen speed, it will just justify upgrading sooner.

Mine live in the garage. I will occasionally "forget" and leave one in the living room or bedroom, but am promptly reminded by SWMBO of the error of my ways and they go back to the garage...
by the way, can folks post pics of their hanging/racking solutions for multiple bikes? Mine are just laying about and I worry about them getting knocked over...

My bikes were either kept on the rack in the back stairwell or in the back of our kitchen dining area. My wife doesn't always like it, but she likes the skinnier version of me so she doesn't complain. Since I am down to one bike it will just chill on the rack in the stairwell. We live in a 2 flat and the only people with access to the stairs is our place, the guy in the basement apartment, and upstairs (who only use it to toss trash).

LOL. i have a little 8x12 shed with a added closed in lean to type enclosure that i put my Cub Cadet in...Can't wait to build a shop so i can have my tools all permanently set up and a place to park the Harley's... when that is done i will have plenty of room in the garage to just leave my bicycle in a standard floor rack... BTW my garage has 2 doors... That was one of the conditions of me getting a garage, it had to have 2 doors because my neighbour has 1 door and i had a hard time seeing 2 full size vehicles going in there... At the time it was a Explorer and a Taurus and it was a tight fit.

I have a 3 car garage that is divided into a two car and a single car garage. The single car garage is my shop which usually houses all but one bike, currently have three. The third bike which is either the one I just finished riding or the one that I will be riding on my next ride spends her time in the living room. Recently my wife asked me how long my bike was going to stay in the living room and my answer was, "till the next time I ride". From the look on her face I don't think that was the answer she wanted to hear but all in all she is pretty good about them as long as I keep a towel down and don't put too much clutter (riding gear) on the front table.

the bike tree is a 4x4 about 7 feet tall with 2x8 legs bolted to the bottom. the legs are about 2 feet long. think of a square (4x4) with each side extended out.
the rack holds 6 bikes

At the condo the bikes mostly are in the family room area off the kitchen. No furniture in there, just bikes. I can easily fit ten or so bikes there if I wanted to.
At the summer home, in the garage except for my roadie, which is in the spare bedroom, and the old bikes, which are in the barn. At least right now.
In the winter with the motorhome, two on the rack off the back, one off the ladder, and the good bike in a bin. Sometimes one stays in the car. Once we had three extra bikes with the motorhome and ended up hauling them up to the roof. Not doing that again.

Because I live in a small studio, my bikes are necessarily in my main living area. Fortunately, I have a lot of vertical space, so in addition to having a loft bed to better utilize my space, I also have a Saris Bike Bunk for vertical bike storage. Granted, whenever I start looking for "bike #3 ," I'll have to figure out something a little different, but this works very well in the meantime.

when I was commuting I would leave my daily bike on the back patio with a tarp for bad weather but when it got really cold I walked it down the bulkhead (into the basement) every night so that in the morning it wasn't frozen solid
