4/1 Tuesday 9.1 miles (usual route home from work)
4/2 Weds: 26.10 + 13.63 = 39.78 (pleasure ride down the Green River Trail + trip out to meet friends celebrating)
4/3 Thursday: 15.3 + 14.7 + 5.1 + 1.7 = 36.8 (trip to the other side of town to meet a friend for a short ride, and then home)
4/4 Friday: 9.5 miles (usual commute in to work)
4/5 Saturday AM: 9.1 miles (usual route home from work)
4/5 Saturday PM: 9.5 miles (usual commute in to work)
4/6 Sunday: 9.1 miles (usual route home from work)

122.88 miles so far!
Another 46.5 miles, all commuting. I'd like to get in some longer rides, but my poor bike is acting out for a spring overhaul, right when I'm trying to get my new rig together. Think I'll try and limp the old tank along for another week or two with minimal tweaking and get the new boat running.

4/7 Monday: 9.5 miles
4/8 Tuesday: 9.0 miles
4/9 Weds: zero miles
4/10 Thurs: zero miles
4/11 Fri: 9.5 miles
4/12 Saturday: 9.0 miles
4/12 Saturday: 9.5 miles

46.5 miles

I checked my routes on strava to see the elevation and find it hard to believe they are accurate. Has anyone else noticed this?

4/3 20 mi
4/4 20 mi
4/5 81 mi (probably 8,000 feet climbing....I am toast)
4/6 10 mi
4/7 10 mi
4/8 10 mi
4/9 26 mi
4/12 125 mi around 12,000 feet of climbing.

MTD: 333 mi

Goal: no longer a horse by the end of the month. Sub 200 pounds

While melting up a 10% climb in equistrian country yesterday, a big horse trailer passed me. That empty stall sure looked nice.

I am trying the different apps and currently using MapMyRide. Last night it told me 390 ft climbing on a perfectly flat bike trail along the river 5 miles out and back.

Behind my house on the back roads, my constant use of my 26/34 gear, 3-4 mph speed on half the ride, my pounding heart rate, heavy breathing, and screamng leg muscles tell me I am doing some pretty good climbing, but MapMyRide says the climb is less than the perfectly flat trail.

4/13 - My first 10+ mile ride on the Randonee. Actually, made it to 13.5 miles and I'm stoked. Didn't go out yesterday, because I spent most of the day walking around in the sun at the local Highland Games, but had to make it out today because it's so beautiful out. Sunny and 65F. I start out the same way each time and then end up taking a new turn to see where it leads. Today I found a nice loop that could turn into a nice daily 10 mile ride. The saddle comfort is still great. Just have to remember to stand up and get the blood flow going every once in awhile. Felt a little numbness in my right foot toward the end of the ride. Not sure where that's coming from. Oh, and the inch worms are out in full force in the Carolinas. I don't know how much silk I rode through, but I found like 3 or 4 of the little buggers on me during the ride.

MTD = 31.3 mi.

Quick spin after last weekend's monster ride. Headwinds on the way out, which meant on the way back 20+mph was achievable and didn't even feel like it was much effort.

01 Apr - 14 miles
05 Apr - 191 miles
13 Apr - 34 miles

MTD - 239 miles

well i am on the board for April! and 2014!! Did a killer 16 miles yesterday. Cycled into a headwind to a nearby town which was 11 miles away. I knew it was a headwind before i left thinking it would be a doddle on the way back. By the time I got to the second leg i was completely exhausted - had to ring for a rescue.

Today I did a killing 8 miles! Glad I did it but not sure why I am finding it so tough. I must be in worse shape than i think. btw I am 142kgs = 312lbs! so yeah I probably should be finding it tough

anyway glad to get started this year, please God many more miles. oh and a word of thanks to the poor steed.

This time it was early evening so I wouldn't need the lights. Headed out behind the house on the hills after my wife got home from work. And my dates below seem to be wrong, or I missed a day reporting. Looks like the date was wrong...

87.5 miles to date for April and woke up to about an inch of snow. Extended forcast this week looks bleak. May need to do a day or two in the gym again.

Hit a record time although I shaved off a couple tenths of a mile riding on the road vs. the trail, a little strange since they run parallel with each other. I also had to conquer my fear of hills (roller coaster type of hills) by taking the road. Now that I know how easy (and how much faster) it was to take the road, I don't think I'll ever ride the trail again

4/12: 24.774 miles ( 1: 50 :33 ) -- In the past it took me 2 hours or longer to ride this distance.

MTD: 48 miles out of 100 -- A couple more long weekend rides and I'll reach this goal.
4/13: 6 miles. Sunset ride on the path with the kid. Pushed my self to keep the speedometer over 17 MPH the last 3 miles. She had no issue keeping up and even lead the pace a couple times. The humidity was high and there was a little bit of a crosswind but nothing unmanageable.

4/14: 5 miles. Another ride on the rail trail with the step daughter and Amish boy down the road. Would've rode further but the 30 MPH headwind was brutal!

MTD: 59 miles out of 100 -- Not sure if I'll get on the bike later this week with the current forecast showing rain and <50 degree weather (Ridiculous, we just had 70+ days).

I wish I had the discipline for that... I just can't do more than about 10 minutes on the trainer... and that is rare, but I just may have to do it to meet my goal this month. The first thing I need to do is put an odometer on the rear wheel to keep me honest.

Honestly ... last night was a struggle getting started. I was having a bit of a pity party lamenting the fact that I SHOULD be riding outside but just couldn't due to the weather.

I just put the headphones on, put my head down and do it. The hard part is getting started. Helps knowing the suffering at present will pay off when I can ride outdoors on a regular basis.

Thanks and this month had lofty goals cuz the crazy race I was trying to get into. I'm pretty bruised battered and broke/fractured 10 bones. Left lung is still pretty bruised but iimproving well. Some nice r & r will be good along with allot of time spent on video games since I can't work yet either.
