Especially those that are more interested in health, as opposed to scale worship. For those people I see a very, very gradual weight loss over a looooong period. Just my observation.
Tractorlegs, unlike Rowan, I didn’t make any generalized statement that would imply everyone loses weight as swiftly as I did. I merely conveyed the reality of my personal experience and as such, it isn’t subject to flawed logic rather, it is what it is whether it pleases or displeases you.

Then what are we arguing about?

You said that people spend the same amount of time losing the weight as gaining it. Most people gain the weight gradually over decade(s). So if they spent the same amount of time losing the weight, that would also be decade(s). Either you mean that, or you are claiming that most people put on weight quite a bit faster over just a few years, which is true for some, but I dispute that it is true for most.

I think you're arguing now just for the sake of arguing
I'm either trying to get you to write much less sloppily, or simply disputing your premise that time frames for weight loss and weight gain are similar for most people. I don't know which.

I understand. The reverse logic was that you used your specific example to prove something generally. A general observation would prove a general point, and a specific observation would prove a specific point. You said "However, after bicycling and commuting regularly via my portly mountain bikes over a period of just 9 months, I managed to lose 37.8 pounds! Hence, your statement clearly doesn’t hold true in any generalized manner" In this sentence, you use your specific experience to support something general.

BTW congratulations on your weight loss!
