Thanks for the link. Even I was getting tired of my lame old excuses. Now I have some new ones to fall back on!

You could tell how hard he was trying not to laugh when he was wiping himself out...
the bus pass comment at the end is an age joke - apparently when you turn 65 in GB you get a free bus pass.

What a hoot! Ya, the whole clipped-in-falling-over thing was pretty good. I liked the "lost contact lens" too.

FWIW, I use the same excuse for climbing slowly as I do for passing the paceline while coasting downhill:
Gravity likes me better!

It is funny I went for a ride the morning before GCN released this video and totally got dropped on a short climb with my buddy. My excuse was more honest.....I totally wasn't ready for it at all. That and my big ring was making all sorts of noise.

I ride solo so no there's no making excuses to anyone but myself. Even then, the only excuse I've told myself while climbing is "DAMN Is this wind ever going to stop blowing into my face?" Funny thing is, I've "blamed" my slow climbing abilities on the wind even when it appears to be nonexistent. I have a 60+ mile ride, with about 2300ft of climbing planned for tomorrow and from what I can gather on weather.com I'm going to have an unavoidable 11mph headwind the first 3/4 of the ride. Whatever hurts you just makes you stronger!
