Any suggestions re shoe covers suitable for commuting. I've had a hard time finding any as most seem to be made for slim-hipped, pixie-footed road cyclists looking to squeeze every last bit of aerodynamics and weight out of everything.

My requirements:
1. Easy to put on without taking my shoes off. I normally carry them in a pannier when I'm expecting rain and want to put them on fast.
2. Proper sizing for size 12 MTB shoe, normal width.
3. Durable sole
4. Reasonable price ($100+ is not reasonable)

I've found these online -- Endura - Products -- but can't find a local supplier and am hesitant to order due to sizing uncertainty.

What's your experience?

if you want to use your fancy bike shoes those^^ or Showers pass may be OK Drop the durable sole spec.

have a PI Neoprene pair for MTB use Rugged for off road use.. Open for Cleats $80 & I'll send both, post paid.

If your MTB shoes has treads/studs at the bottom they'll tear through most shoe covers after a couple of weeks. I went through two pairs this winter before eventually giving up and buying weather-proof shoes.

I assumed it but should have specified SPD cleat compatibility as a requirement .

Do you have them? Is their sizing accurate? Are they easy to put on?

I paid $40 for a pair of BBB Hardware shoe covers, made from neoprene. They added a good layer of wind/waterproofing and let me wear my SPD sandals until late fall -- then I went right into heavy boots.

If you go this route, you should buy a pair 2-3 sizes bigger than your shoe size. Also, watch the crank arms. I tore my left overshoe because it was rubbing slightly.

I like the Pearl Izumi WXB Barrier shoe covers. I currently have a pair of Endura's which are also good though they don't fit my shoes as well as the Pearl Izumi's did.

i bought these this year. I think they have made the difference between suffering through rides and actually enjoying. keep feet warm and i would imagine keep water at bay for a while. 3 or so MM of neoprene.

I ordered some Endura xl and they are way too small - at least 1 inch too short and impossible to put on. They've ordered the xxl for me (13-15) and we'll see. Otherwise they look perfect.
