I don't think it's a d1ck move, even if you don't ask. It's a bike rack, it's meant for bikes, it's not being used for bikes, which means whoever paid to install it isn't getting their money's worth.
However, given that yours is the first case I've heard of a commuter being repeatedly targeted for obnoxious deflation, it's not a common thing. So if review of the tapes can identify the culprit and he can be dealt with, I bet you won't have to worry any more. You could also look around in the back, even if there isn't an actual bike rack, there might be a pipe or some other secure feature that you could lock up to while keeping your bike out of everyone's way. That might be preferable to a rack out front in general. |

I have an idea..
There's a local nursing home near my work that has a hidden bicycle rack. Nobody ever uses it. Would it be a d1ck move to lock my bike up there and walk 5 minutes to work? You can try the nursing home, but don't be a weener if you are asked to not use it in the future. For future reference, this forum will accomplish nothing for you should someone start messing with your bicycle again. Move it or confront the person messing with you. This is why you should never be a dick to your coworkers. |

I used to have this on my motorcycle; it fit perfectly right between the handlebar clamps...

If I saw that, I would be tempted to do something along the lines of drawing a penis on a conspicuous part like the headlight.

Deflate the tires yourself before going into work?

I'd find out who did it, and search out their vehicle....... What's good for the goose....................
2 times is two tires, three is three ----- maybe they would understand |
2 deflated tires on one car sucks......:)

I picked up a small screamer type alarm a few months ago at a thrift shop for a few dollars, has a small pull cord to set it off kind of like a panic alarm and it is LOUD. I've thought of figuring out a way to rig it up to the bike where if the bike is moved then it would go off, problem is with wind and with other people putting bikes in a nearby rack location.

1.Buy a beater bike
2.Ask your boss if you can park your bike inside 3.Take the front wheel off & take it with you |

You could slob super glue all over the tire once you get to work.
Or black ink. |

sounds like there is no evidence of anyone tampering with the bike. experience will eventually demonstrate, that flat tires take an indeterminate amount of time to manifest themselves, depending on the severity of the hole or holes in the tube. :)

UPDATE:
So I talked to security at my work who reviewed footage of the last few days. They told me that they didn't see ANYBODY touch or mess with my bike. I thought this to be strange as two days in a row, I had a flat tire on two different bikes, both on the rear... I guess I can't dispute video evidence.
