So I talked to security at my work who reviewed footage of the last few days. They told me that they didn't see ANYBODY touch or mess with my bike. I thought this to be strange as two days in a row, I had a flat tire on two different bikes, both on the rear... I guess I can't dispute video evidence. |

Maybe the 'tubes have a slow leak. Swap them out and see. It's all a process of elimination.

I was on a group ride on Saturday from Pizza Port San Clemente to Pizza Port Ocean beach (stopping at Pizza Ports Carlsbad and Solana Beach on the way...). After I got out of Solana Beach, my front tire was flat (Marathon Supreme). Did a quick visual check for sharps, didn't see anything. Went to pump it up, saw the valve was open, so I think somebody let my air out. However, I had been noticing that my front tire was beginning to feel a little soft. If I left the valve open, is it possible for road vibration bounce the valve to burp a little?
In any case, I pumped it up, and it held for the remaining 20+ miles. (However, I did pick up a nasty staple that took the rear down...) |

How did the valve caps come off?

Maybe the 1st flat was legit, and the second was from a pinched tube from changing the 1st. Did you determine the cause of the flat?

I don't know, I was not there to see what you saw or hear what they told you but I personally don't think I would not be satisfied with it. I do hope you are right. Maybe it is a serial flat with an explanation. |
Putting a sign on the bike noting that it is under video surveillance couldn't hurt. I hope that the security people find out who is doing it.
As others have suggested, it may be a coworker. The outside world would as soon steal the whole bike as gently deflate the tires. |

actually, you can buy repellant that stinks like skunk only worse. Its made for repelling sexual assaults. I would imagine that would be the easiest thing to get into the tires but sweet moses, what if you spilled. |
hmmm, trying to figure out what word that might be that the auto filters censored. coon?
