The goal is to do it more, however...my commute home is at 12:30am with the last 3 miles being a 3 mile, 1200' climb up a dirt road in the forest. I did it last week. It's pretty brutal, that late @ night & there is always the chance encounter with wildlife.

I rode my fixie 14 miles in to work today and had a really nice tail wind.

nice!

for me, the commuting has been great, mostly due to the good weather. aside from getting my commuter stolen (boo hoo) it's been awesome.

14 miles round trip but got caught in a downpour the last half mile on way home. Still loved it. Also my fastest commute yet at 14.9 mph average.

I *finally* got to ride in. The storms never came yesterday, so that was a bummer...but I made up for it today. Quite enjoyable, very light traffic.

I rode in the rain both Monday and today, sort of feel like a kid splashing through the puddles and I cannot help but smile. My mind tends to think that all the people stuck in their cages are probably thinking I am crazy or are feeling sorry for me, but they really have it backwards.

As noted earlier, I rode to work Monday and Tuesday, but I needed my car for something today. I can't believe how depressed I am that I don't get to ride home this afternoon. I'm being a real baby about it, too.

Been riding my All-City to work all last week and this week. I wanna take my fixed gear to work this Friday, but I need to swap the chain out (there's a local roller race so I may be doing that tonight to test my chain).

Last week I drove every day, due to needing to pop back and forth between work and a conference at a hotel in town.

I'm glad to be back on the bike this week for BTWW, and as penance for last week I'll even ride through the rain coming Thu and Fri.

This reminded me of some those big word problems in 7th grade math class. Sheesh! If you can bike + train + walk to work in 50 minutes, then what's the direction and average velocity of the head wind? Haha!

bus + train + walk: 50 minutes or so
bike + train + walk: 50 minutes or so

going great, I work form home, but my wife works about 11 miles away so i have been riding with her into town in the morning then meeting her for the second half of her ride in the afternoon. I get my miles in this way, and she gets company on her commute. we get to spend time doing things together too. its awesome!

Today is Wednesday, and I've ridden to work twice so far this week, so I'm doing well, I suppose.

3 for 3. Extremely windy out there this morning, hoping this afternoon is better as I plan to extend my ride for kicks. The forecast says we're in store for a chilly start tomorrow morning but i tend to warm up quick so I'm not complaining.

Replace that seat!

I stopped riding for a while because I was uncomfortable on the bike. I then realized it was the racing-style seat; at 61 years old I had simply gotten too old for such nonsense.

Replaced it with a Brooks Flyer (my avatar) and have fallen in love with my bike all over again...

I had one of those in the original 15 speed under the Lambert label; bought it new for $150 in 1970.

Mine was blue with white trim.

I see you are still using the "suicide fork"...

Terrible timing. This week has been very wet and rainy. Plus we're in the process of buying a house and we've had to leave work to go take care of stuff a lot so we needed the car. Going to try to ride in on Friday. Hope the weather holds.

I bike to work most days, except for when its raining hard... I dislike riding in the rain so I avoid it when utterly possible. And its supposed to rain the rest of the week.

Ironically, I didn't even know it was bike to work week till I saw this tread today.

4 out of 4 days so far.
Looking forward to riding tomorrow as well. They are not calling for rain which will be the first non rain soaked Bike to work Day as long as I have been bike commuting.

looking forward to some free breakfast!

Decided on a route for tomorrow that will hopefully avoid most of the newb riders and their cheering section.
