last night I found that I couldn't find my right glove. Hopefully I'll find that tonight I find it again.

If not, easy come, easy go. That glove was originally a road find itself, I've been riding with a black left glove and safety-orange right glove. I've got a collection of about a dozen mismatched gloves. (Haven't been finding gloves lately like I used to though).

Now why didn't I realize I could wear mismatched gloves? Thank you.

U gotta be a bit of an iconoclast, but I think you're probably secure enough in your own identity to enjoy feeling superior to the shallowness of anybody that might criticize you for mismatched gloves!

Last week it was earthworms. Thundering herds of stampeding earthworms trying to escape the pouring rain. So many worms.

1. Larabar coconut, still sealed in the wrapper. (One of my favorites!)

Funny, I thought they were usually plastic.

After a month, I'm finally back on my bike!

This morning I saw something I'd never seen before. I was on the bridge over the Eureka Slough when off to my right I saw an egret flying over the water and being harassed by a seagull and a blue heron. Between riding the shoulder as far right as I could without ramming into the concrete guard rail and watching for early morning drivers reluctant to let go of their highways speeds, I didn't get to see who won, but it wasn't the egret. Must've been a mighty fine fish.

I find a lot of keeper pins for ball hitches- about one a week. Kinda scary if you think about it. :eek:

Anytime that I have towed, double redundant chain were present should the hitch slide out, which I don't think is possible with the cabin length usually employed.

Not an expert though, just by few previous experiences. If that is indeed the norm, loss of a retaining pin is far from catastrophic.

It's not mine and was likely on the car being towed by the RV going to Devil's Tower. Kinda wonder how the conversation went.

It looks like between $2000 and $4000 worth of bikes. I couldn't even poach any parts since I didn't have anything to cut locks. The wheels were beyond saving.

1. money (I'll stop for quarters and up)
2. iphone (older gen, locked)
3. a few SAE wrenches (probably will never use, but I at least have them)
4. lots of bungee cords
5. peace and solitude (the exercise is an added bonus)

This morning, I was coming through a turn on my Norco and ran over a previously flattened stainless steel fork in the road. :rolleyes:

I immediately thought of this thread, but didn't have my phone/camera with me. So . . . I kept on a pedaling. :commute:

The road kill is plentiful these days in RVA
 

My route to work is about 5.75 miles and I haven't seen so much road kill in years until recently. Yesterday it was 2 possum, 4 squirrels, a cat, 2 black snakes and what I think was a rat. It has rained a lot recently in Richmond, VA so some critters have probably been driven out of ground to ultimately fall victim to cars. The cat that I rode closely by was the tear jerk for me. The poor buddy hadn't been there for long before I passed him. Travel well buddy. I wish his 9 lives to have been the best ever. All the best to his people too. He wore a collar.

Used in case Milwaukee Tools hole dozier kit with bits, bases and various hole diameters. Pretty nice.

I found a 4x8 sheet of plywood today.

Lots of screws and nails, and some kind of a latch on one side. But, overall not in too bad of shape, other than a little corner damage.

Pretty heavy plywood too. Maybe 3/4"

Also a long 2x4, not in perfect condition, but it will be able to be at least partially reused.

Of course, the "General Trailer" red flag was an earlier road find. :)

I found a huge turtle this morning. It was at least 10" maybe 12" I was going to stop and move him but didn't. I hope i don't find him smashed on the road like I did a few weeks ago.
