Anyone know of any other tail lights with that name..?
Bontrager Flare R, maybe? Maybe he misspoke or you misheard him? They are a little pricey with an MSRP of $60.

Anyways, I use a Cateye Rapid 1 for a helmet taillight. Small, lightweight, USB rechargeable and of significance to me, a small mounting bracket that I could zip tie to the helmet to make it easy to mount and remove. But I use this in conjunction with a either a seatpost or rack mounted light as a supplemental light because it's not bright enough on its own.

Yes they are pricey. But then what is the extra safety worth to you? I think they are reasonably priced, especially of you look at the $ per lumen.

I don't know who makes it, but I was riding with a guy doing some early evening mountain biking and he had a helmet mounted rear light that was weighted and on a swivel, so no matter if he was looking up or down, the light stayed horizontal to the ground.

Success! Weighs only 15g, very bright with multiple strobe modes, straps on easily to my helmet, charges via USB, and only cost $15 from REI. I'll report if it malfunctions or presents other disappointments in the future--but so far so good.

How did you attach it to your helmet? Thanks.
