DIY Knee Warmers

DIY Knee Warmers
I ride for much of the year in temperatures below freezing. My legs don't mind much except that my knees can get a little brittle feeling when it gets that cold. I created some great knee warmers by cutting off the feet of a pair of thick old boot socks and pulling them up over my knees cuffs down. Keeping the cuffs down helps to prevent them from curling up when you pull tights or wind pants up over them.

DIY arm warmers
I did much the same thing to make arm warmers: had a pair of old knee-high wool socks that I've had for over thirty years and used earlier in life for x-country skiing. Cut off the feet (heels were worn through anyway), and they work veery nicely.

Same here. I did that last winter when having just a pair of tights wasn't enough protection for the knee area. Worked great, actually. Same thing goes for keeping your 'junk' warm on really cold days. Frostbite there is painful
