Is been well above freezing for most of the time since the snowfall nine days ago. Most of it is gone now, which still leaves a lot, but riding in the streets isn't challenging any more. I rode two miles on an errand this morning before taking the subway to work. I would have ridden to work but I was in a hurry, and my bike wasn't ready.

Did you take the Mount Vernon Trail? I rode out to check it yesterday and it was still covered in snow.

No, I don't. There are several here, like @GovernorSilver, who do, though. I prefer roadways to trails. I'd rather share the road with cars than ride with multi-use path occupants, who aren't business-like enough for me.

Another benefit of avoiding paths is that roadways get the first snow removal. PG
