Forgive me for moralizing ( ) but I think bicycle commuters are more in touch with reality than those who drive (with the exception of those who simply can't bicycle feasably.)

1) When you ride a bicycle, you are a part of your natural environment, not isolated like in a car, with the added insult of morning dj's.

2) Um, isn't that enough?

3) When you ride a bicycle, you are using human power, for which the Earth's environment is well-equipped to support, unlike the cra* that comes from tailpipes.

4) When you ride a bicycle, you are subject to the humility you have as a pedestrian, unlike the power-crazed reactions of a human who is packing 100-plus horses and high anxiety. (Don't tell me I'm crazy--I know better! )

5) When you ride a bicycle, you are saving untold thousands of dollars (which you can also spend, "helping the economy." )

6) The world population can easily support billions of bicycle riders, but billions of car drivers would turn our planet brown (not to mention our lungs.)

I would take this a stage further. When you commute on a recumbent even more of reality. As a recumbent rider you are in the minority.People that are prejudiced should ride recumbents
they will then see just how people react to something different.
For example my wife was talking to a man in our street,he actually
believed that i was a bit mentally difficient because I ride a recumbent. And I know people who have been attacked just for riding recumbents.
Conclusion,IF ITS DIFFERENT BASH IT.

Think of how the world would sound if everyone rode bicycles or walked, instead of drove automobles! It's the stuff of science-fiction, sure. But a lovely thought.

I refuse to comment on what might come from the tailpipes of bikers....

Really? (Checks bank account) Where did it all go? Dang, am I helping the economy THAT much?

But aren't there already billions of car drivers? (Cough, cough, hack....)
