Hey guys, im new to the forum and id just like to ask a bit of advice

i live in toronto and im going to university next year, im not planning on getting a car till i graduate so bike is going to be my only form of transportation

my current bike is a jeep comanche tsi 21 speed with full suspension but ive been abusing it for the past 3 years and i also dont want it stolen (i saw one go on ebay for 250 USD)

my plans are to get a commuter bike for <100 dollars CDN and my only choices as of now is an arashi comet 18 speed with front suspension (im told arashi does not make quality bikes, why are they bad? i really dont know) or an 80 dollar sportek tempest 18 speed bike with front suspension (its my friend's and is about 2 years old but he's only ridden it like 10 times)

the thing is i dont know how muc hthe tempest cost when it was new and i dont know about either of these manufacturers

i tried googling it but neither manufacturer seems to have a website and i must make a decision by tommorow whether or not to buy the new bike (the sale ends tommorow for the new arashi, however i can just buy it and if it turns out my friend's bike is a better choice refund it later within 2 weeks)

please, any advice, personal experience with either of these bikes or manufacturers would be extremely helpful

my main concern is which one of the 2 bikes are more reliabile durable and which is of better quality, my friend says his tempest cost 180 dollars new but since he doesnt have the receipt i cant really take his word for it
