This bike is really interesting. If I had not just bought a Cervelo R2, I would so be wanting this one. I know they are different bikes but the Mrs. keeps me in check, Otherwise I would have a herd of bikes.

There's a thread about it in the Touring forum if you want to obsess some more.

The most notable thing I see about it, besides the handlebars, is the front is really raked out. 50mm offset and 71 deg HT angle

I was really interested in the wheel barrow bike as a seriously tough commuter...but they didn't have it in my size...would have to special order it.

Not sure how bad the aerodynamic/handling would be if the front basket is loaded with work cloths and stuff.

I don't know how you can realistically worry about aerodynamics on that bike, unless you are just trolling like with your aluminum frame thread.

Website says, Shipping is FREE with REI Store Pickup.

great thanks

I am considering a salsa vaya or marrekesh, or Jamis aurora or some other touring wide tired bike.

Just got back from REI. It's the Fourth of July today and I paid full price for everything I bought.

Well I guess you didn't shop the clearance items! Look at this sweet deal I found today:

went to REI myself yesterday. there was a discount rack over by the cycling section but didn't see anything for me. lots of choices for Wifey, she says she might actually like some cycling shorts.

of course, this isn't the season for cycling discounts on their best stuff

That looks more like one of the Going Out of Business deals at Sports Authority.

Was this tag on a Novara convertible wind/rain jacket?
I saw the same price markdown yesterday because i swapped one size out for another on the jacket.
I commented that it was probably more work than benefit to print out and relabel tages for 10cents off
