What's on Your Handlebars?

Hola. I'm curious to see what my fellow commuters have on their handlebars. Here's a pic of my mine.
  • Mirrycle Rear View Mirror
  • Planet Bike Blaze 1/2 Watt Headlight
  • CatEye Strada Wireless Bicycle Computer
  • Mount for SJCAM camera
  • Bell (I had to install this upside down to get it to fit, but ended up really liking it this way)

The only thing aftermarket on my bars is a Lezyne Mega Drive light:

Usually just a light, but I do have a cyclocomputer on just one of my bikes.

I thought you only rode a recumbent.

All three bikes have a bell, Airzound airhorn, mirror, bike computer, thermometer, clock and at night a Niterider 500 lumen headlamp. On the screen grab of the black bike, the mirror is partially hidden by my left hand.

This time of year, just a Garmin.

crankythunder 07-02-16 09:30 AM

two headlights, a clock, two pouches for clear and tinted glasses, and a water resistant pouch for my phone and I pad. Under the bars is a bag with spare tubes, levers, and spare batteries.

Regards,
Crankster

Korina 07-02-16 03:40 PM

A Mirrcycle mirror, headlight, and bell. I've become a minimalist in my old age.

Always:

Garmin 520. Will add a light in Oct.

dragoonO1 07-02-16 10:27 PM

Cyclometer, 2 headlights, bell

devianb 07-02-16 11:27 PM

Blackburn Flea headlight.

Haven't re-taken since I replaced the Bell wireless random number generator with a Cateye Strada Cadence, but it's in the same spot.

Bell Radian front light, Energizer 250 lumen flashlight, phone mount, Zefal mirror, cyclometer, and a couple of slap bracelets that I use for pants clips when I need to ride in certain pants.

79pmooney 07-02-16 11:38 PM

My bars (drop) have HB tape, either Fizak or doubled cloth, aero brake levers (no brifters), the gravel bike has in-line CX style levers on the tops and another SunTour Command shifters and a simple cadence computer (my trainer bike). All have bar plugs. The bike being ridden may have a small Serfas light on it. I like clean, simple handlebar setps.

(7/14/16 -- Added photos)
  • Mirricyle
  • Bell/compass combo (hey, I have no natural sense of direction)
  • Serfas SL-255 headlight
  • A pair of LowePro lens pouches that serve as handlebar bags for my cell phone, compact camera, spare batteries for the head and tail lights, etc.
  • Ion Speed Pro camera

No dedicated bike computer. I use Cyclemeter on the iPhone to record rides, but it mostly sits in one of the blue handlebar pouches. Occasionally I'll refer to OSMandMaps on the phone if I'm lost, but I always stop to do that. When I'm lost a quick glance at a handlebar mounted map/app won't help.

I like the idea of using the bracelets as bike reflectors when you're not using them as pants clips. I may try this.

fietsbob 07-03-16 09:45 AM

Ditto. I bought a bunch of yellow and orange springy reflectors for a buck a pair at Dollartree. I wrap 'em around the bike frame, rear rack, etc. Handy for drive side pants cuffs. Sometimes I remember to slap 'em around my ankles and forearms for night rides.

Originally, it was unintentional; I just wanted to keep them handy in case of a problem that would leave me walking, since there are a few places along my rides where I could safely leave the bike. (Friends' fields, etc. Might be a couple miles to their house to ask for a ride if I was passing their back pasture at the time of a breakdown.) When I went to get it out of the dark garage once, I noticed that they were the brightest reflection on the front. Plus they sit in that bend of the riser bars where nothing else mounts well anyway.

dramiscram 07-04-16 08:08 AM

My hands...

Oh! There's also my cyclocomputer and a compass..
