I've been using an inexpensive ultrasonic cleaner filled with Simple Green, then rinsing in plain water and drying in the oven. It works great. Way easier and less messy than those spinny mechanical brush cleaners.

Either that Park citrus stuff is WAY better than what I use (typically some dilution of Simple Green) or I let me chain get a lot nastier before cleaning than you do. I've got a Park chain cleaner and my experience is that the brushes collect enough grime that I could make a brand new chain black and filthy by running it through the machine and the dirty chain is still pretty dirty.

I typically just spray some degreaser on a rag and run the chain through it until it's mostly clean. If I want the chain to shine, I'll spray a bit of WD40 on it before using the rag. Either way, I lube the chain afterward, almost certainly letting grime into the rollers. Even with this method my chain life doesn't strike me as unreasonable.

Does anybody use "Totally Awesome" cleaner degreaser? I've always seen Simple Green mentioned on these forums, so, I picked some up and I found it's not nearly as good as the Awesome for degreasing.

I had some kind of degreaser in an aerosol can, I think it was made by Giant, that worked great... but it was in an aerosol can and therefore I ran through it pretty quickly. Plus I'm sure it wasn't very eco.
