I recently began riding my bike to work...using the Lake Shore Path, and parking my bike in a highly visible area during the work day (among other bikes). Well, despite my precautions, my bike was stolen at 1:30pm in broad daylight! Because my building claims they want no liability for indoor storage, I'm stuck with locking up my bike outside and running the risk of getting it stolen. Any advice on what to do? How to address the building manager on this one?

If you're by Millennium Park, you can use the bike station there and store your bike. It'll be safe.
