fender attachment point confusion

fender attachment point confusion
Both my front and rear fenders on my commuter (takeoffs from some bike that wandered through my garage briefly) only are attached at the fork/brake bridge and by one set of stays that attaches to the mount points near the dropouts. In pictures, it seems like most fenders have two sets of stays per fender + the brake bridge attachment point. My fenders seem pretty stable, are quiet, and don't rub. Am I risking anything by not adding a second set of stays to each fender?

The Fancy hammered look Aluminum ones also use just 1 rear strut.
in some of those sets, the front curves quite a ways forward, then it needs a second strut, also well forward.
