5 year break - 1st commute complete!
For very little good reason, I put the bike away in the basement about 5 years ago and never took it out since... until today to do my first commute to work! The is also my first visit back to BF in about that same amount of time.
I picked a cold and windy day to start, but couldn't be happier!
Here is an obligatory picture of the commuting beast...

Hey, welcome back.
Five years ago it didn't even occur to me that I could ride my bike to work. Heck, I didn't even have a bike five years ago that was capable of riding to work.
How long is your commute?

Nice job. I got back on my bike consistently this year after about 2 years of time off....birth of daughter and general frazzlement contributed to using the car consistently. Forced myself to commute 3 days a week since mid summer and have been much happier overall.

I stayed off my bike for over 15 years before the bug hit again. I've been commuting by bike regularly for the past 5 years, now. On the few days when I have to drive to work, it stresses me out. How do folks do that every day?

It doesn't stress me out, but I don't look forward to it when I have to drive. I am full of anticipation whenever I am riding to work, whether it's because I'm trying out something new like a different route, or some piece of equipment or accessory that just arrived in the mail. Even the weather fills me with anticipation, good or bad. Perhaps I'm still a bit wet behind the ears to be feeling this way. After all, I've only been doing it for a little over two years.
