Feels Good to Commute Again

I commuted to the office by bike for the first time in three and a half weeks. Three weeks ago, I crashed my Trek 520 into a fence after over correcting my front wheel that was in a rut. I sustained a bruised ego and a couple of ribs (X-rays negative), and the bike's front fork needed replacing. I was on my road bike in five days, but I just got Lieutenant Dan back last week. It felt good to be back.

Lieutenant Dan, you ask? When I came home from the bike shop, my wife saw I was upset that my hunter green Trek 520 with tan saddle and grip tape (military-like colors) needed a new front fork. She said, "Don't worry Hun, Lieutenant Dan will be home soon." When she saw the confused look on my face she said in her best Forrest Gump voice, "Lieutenant Dan! You got new legs!" He will forever be referred to as Lieutenant Dan.

Bikes: ...a few.

I'm always in a brighter when I arrive with my bike as opposed to my car.

How many egos do you have? You should consult a professional about that...

Glad tour back! I know I would miss it if I couldn't do it. Although I have a car I seldom use it to commute, maybe once a month due to a time restriction on that day. Be careful out there!

I rode last night for the first time in about a month. It reminded me why I needed to take extra care with those first rides in a while on my motorcycle, and felt good when I got back home.
