I think that is the preferred order to ride to get tacos, headwind-tacos-tailwind.

The idea of pushing after tacos is terrifying.

The wind backed off for the ride home. I didn't mention this morning there was someone on the pedestrian overpass of US 50 making a chalk mural. This afternoon, the finished product. I think it's fish? More vibrant in person.

Overtime at work, yuck, don't want to be here. At least I'm alone in the office (for now) so I can pump the tunes.

My phone said it was -4C/25F, but TheWeatherNetwork says it was 0C/32F, no wonder I was sweating, I was overdressed (plus the sun was beating on my face most of the way). No tights or jacket on the way home though.

The ride in was okay due to having icy roads in more places than I expected. Though after tomorrow the snow should be all gone and then hopefully no more icy roads due to snow melt.

Dry road, calm, 4*C. Rather ideal for a first week of April commute. I'm full of anticipation for the good weather ahead of us.

Forecast for a heavy rain this evening and night and into tomorrow so it will be a cold, wet ride in tomorrow morning, 3C/37F but because I've committed to #30DaysOfBiking, I'll have to just grin and bear it. Every fall and spring, I look at bike clothing sites with the idea of purchasing some rain pants for this type of cold rain but I have yet to make the purchase.

Terrible ride home Friday. I decided to take my old route home just to change it up. Big mistake. Much more traffic to deal with than my regular route, and more hilly which means my e-bike battery was pretty dead about a mile or so from home. There's also bike lanes near the office (none on my regular route), and because I used the bike lane instead of the travel lane, this happened. Never again.

Very foggy this morning. Went for a run before work. Had a near catastrophe when I tripped on an uneven piece of sidewalk I missed in the fog and dark, even though I run with a light. Closest I've been to going face first into the concrete in a long, long time. Somehow I managed to stay on my feet, although the awkward flailing of my arms and legs tweaked the muscles and joint of my right knee a bit. Thankfully I pushed through it and the pain settled down after about 1/4 mile.

Still foggy for the ride to work. Took the road bike even though there's a 20% chance of rain. Temp was in the mid-40s and the wind was light. Actually was a fairly pleasant ride.

Late start today, couldn't find my headphones and gave up looking. Roads very wet from overnight rain and thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon. Mid 50's makes it tolerable! I remember last year complaining about being wet every day - deja vu all over again

What the heck was the driving thinking? Not thinking I guess. This is when I find a mirror helpful, where I can see the vehicle coming up behind me, and if I see a right signal I anticipate a possible right hook.

Glad you were prepared for it. I might have turned into the parking lot to give the driver a piece of my mind...but then again I live in Canada.:D

He turned onto another road, actually. And I do have a mirror, which is how I knew what was about to happen, and was able to slow slightly so as to not hit the car. I just didn't have enough time to react when I saw his turn signal in the mirror. A second or two earlier and I would have moved left to the travel lane, and that never would have happened.

Cloudy and feels like rain coming. Forecast says it will be here by 1pm and stay for the rest of the day. Wet ride home unless it is stormy and the wife rescues me.

I dropped my bike at the local shop for a tune up on Friday evening. I thought for sure I'd be able to get it back on Saturday or Sunday. But no, mechanic said there's a couple ahead of me and he is off on Sunday and Monday. So I pulled down the old bike, aired up the tires, lubed the chain, adjusted the seat, and rode it in this morning. Riding it reminded me why I bought a new one. Oh well, at least it was there and rideable.

Was a nice morning with 52F temp. Spring is finally here. Will love the 60F temp on the way home. Looks like its shorts and hairy legs time again! :thumb:

Great ride this morning, but in a hurry running late I didn't check the forecast and I'm going to get rain, possibly drenching rain on the way home. No fenders, no rain gear nor glasses nor cap or helmet, so I'll be looking to time a gap or at least a seam between storms.

Quite the stormy afternoon off and on starting at about 2:30. My wife was going to be in the area anyway so she decided to pick me up after work. Turned out there was a break in the heavy rain and wind just before 5 and I could have ridden. I would have gotten wet, but not been blown around so much.

Mostly dry roads for the ride in this morning. Nice day today and probably more rain tomorrow.

It rained all night, but by about 5 AM it stopped and the skies cleared. I got up early to take the long way to work. Rode 18.5 miles. The temp was 41 and the wind was light.

With the rain just ending shortly before I headed out the door, the roads were very wet. I got on the MUP, and as I made my way around to the west side of town the worms came out. Thousands and thousands of worms crossing the pavement. I did my best to ride around them but there wasn't any way I could avoid them all.

When I arrived at work I looked down at my bike and was shocked to see the whole thing layered with worm guts. Apparently I rode over a lot more of them than I thought. I knew if I left the bike sitting in the sun I'd have a baked worm mess on my hands, not to mention attract every scavenger bird in the county. So I ran inside the office and grabbed the paper towels. I wiped the carnage from the bike the best I could. There were at least two dozen whole worms still alive stuck to various parts of the bike. Many, many more suffered a more gruesome fate, particularly the ones that got run through the drivetrain or wrapped around the brakes.

Nice and cool this morning, mid 50's and no wind at all. Nice ride (but slow) on my human powered road bike commuter. Will try to take the e-bike tomorrow. Hope I don't kill the battery this time. :innocent:

A guy on an e-bike passed me on the way home last night. It was weird. I saw him pedal a few times and then stop but he kept accelerating. Took me a second to figure out what I was seeing.

The commute in today was a nice uneventful ride with wet roads. The temp was 37f degrees with cloudy skies, but no rain in the forecast for today.
