Trespassers during morning commute
#26
Truth be said the crime of "trespassing" is a VERY low priority call for law enforcement officers (LEO) so the odds are rather slim you'll ever get cited for that particular crime. As someone has already mentioned even if a LEO does arrive he has to actually witness you trespassing on the property.
I'm not saying that I condone trespassing but when no one is getting hurt I don't see any real harm in sneaking into an area that's marked as "no trespassing."

Road construction has recreated congestion that some morning commuters have taken up to trespassing through my employer’s parking lot instead of making the right turn at the traffic light.
When I arrive at work, I recognize who these trespassers are because 1) they don’t have the level of patience as a motorist who has already arrived at work has 2) they’re still in a hurry and zoom past me and run all the stop signs in our parking lot.
I’ve already notified security about this but let’s face it, there’s very little they can do except if they are willing to have a person stand in the parking lot all morning from 7:30 am stopping cars where trespassers exit.
My point here isn’t about the trespassing. We do it all the time. The point is the safety. When you’re on somebody else’s property that you know you shouldn’t be, have consideration of the people who belong there and look after their safety.
..Asking a motorist to be considerate?

No, call the police and get some traffic control in the form of tickets.

Well, the problem sort of solved itself - at least for the time being. Construction workers have blocked off the specific exit that the trespassers use. Not only that, they block off the section of roadway going by this exit.
Except for the debbie-downer, it was interesting reading all your experiences.

Who would be a Debbie Downer?
You used the word TRESPASS, and correctly.
Parking lots:
If this happens again, get ahold of the property owner/your boss or whomever is in charge of the parking lot or the city. That is what happened here.

Parking lots:
- Are private property
- For the use of employees and customers
- NOT a public street
