Wald basket
I just ordered a Wald 1372 front basket. It appears to have adjustable legs.
My bike has bosses on the outsides of the fork (midway down, sides not fronts). Is there any reason I wouldn't want to mount there? I'm trying to avoid installing at the fork end bosses so as not to interfere with the QR.

Go ahead and attach the legs to those bosses. If the basket feels stable enough for what you want to carry you should be fine.
