One more thing to add to your arsenal of reasons, research found women find bald men Sexier. Who knew.

I don't think I am ready to go completely bald yet.
|
I found a #1.5 in the UK, and had it shipped here. I use that all over. No helmet hair ever. No combing, quick drying, and I save about $20 every month by not having to get a haircut (sorry barbers!).

Now, here's a hair related question for you gentlemen of a certain age!
Has anyone noticed hair graying in a pattern related to helmet vents? I know that sounds crazy, but my hair is going gray in stripes. Probably a coincidence... but... sometimes you gotta ask a stupid question, right? |

I could grow the side fuzz. But then I'd be fuzzy wuzzy not Baldilocks.
|
I'm bald at the top and buzz cut #1 at sides and back. Not sexy but practical.

I just shave my head in the shower once a week using the same razor I use for my face. Easy, relatively quick and very reasonable price!

I've gone as far as a #4 buzz all over. The trouble is, you need to get haircuts more frequently to maintain it. If I try to keep the top a little longer and buzz the sides, it sticks out at the intersection.
Now, I rock the helmet hair. It worked for him: http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/...-9_634x496.jpg |

Or a barber, but of course that defeats the purpose of maintaining hair at home for free. |
I found that cutting it yourself with an electric razor gets easier over time. At first, you feel uncomfortable and wonder how it looks. Eventually, you can do it almost without looking. I can even trim the back of my neck now using the razor and a second mirror in almost no time. At first, this was next to impossible.
I can't stress how freeing it is not having to worry about my hair. Now if I could only convince myself to make the jump to shaving it all off... |
Anybody remember the Flowbee? I'm not sure if it's still around. It is (was) a gadget you connected to your vacuum. The air suction powered cutting blades and sucked up the cut hair all in one. I'm gonna see if they still exist.
I'll be damned... https://www.flowbee.com/ -Kedosto |

I traditionally have my barber do #2 on the sides and #4 on top. My hair is also thinning (I'll be 40 next year). I grow a full beard. A while back I did the opposite... 90's grunge hair and I would trim the face with the clippers once a week. hated combing hair and the helmet head that went with wearing a lid.
I did get a neck gator to wear during cold weather. Allows me to keep the beard all winter longer. Love it! |

There was a study a while ago that claimed driver's give you more space if they think you're a woman. My hair might get that effect sometimes (until they pass me and see the beard). |
Maybe they think you're a bearded lady?
|
Grew my hair out to over 36" long at one point, ponytails help keep helmet hair at bay. Got a haircut for a job and went back to an Army style high and tight (#4 on top, skin on the sides and back). Now, I'm growing it back out again, still doing the ponytail to avoid helmet hair, although half the time I ride helmetless.

I have a professional grade clipper that needs repair. Where can I bring it or send it?
|
I've got a Wahl that seems pretty professional grade as well, my wife has been thinking it maybe needs to be sharpened. If you find out what to do, let me know! Is yours more broken than possibly just being dull?
|
Something is out of alignment inside so it shakes and is ineffective.

I don't wear a helmet as all of the streets are 20mph max and just wear cool glasses/sunglasses and a scarf.
