My Hotshot Pro 80 reflects off road signs on both sides of a 2-lane road, no problem. The fresnel lens does a pretty good job of spreading the beam out. And the mode selections are perfect for me.

The Pro80 does not put out a small point. It covers the entire road. Original Hotshot on bottom, Pro80 on top, from about 3-4 feet off a wall:
