Rear wheel lock ?

Upon purchasing my bike that came with this rear wheel lock, I figured it was mostly useless. However, I'm wondering if it could be trusted to secure the rear wheel? My cable isn't long enough to go through both tires and the frame and also around a bike rack. It's either the front tire and frame to the rack, or both tires and frame without the rack. If I lock my bike up by sending the cable through the front tire and frame and bike rack, with the rear wheel lock on can I expect my rear wheel to still be there when I come back?

If you use a cable lock to secure your bike, you really can't expect your bike to be there at all.

If you are in a high theft area of New Orleans, then you need a good ULock or security chain.

I have a rear wheel lock and I figure if nothing else it is one more layer of frustration for a wouldbe thief. But I lock my frame to the rack with a U-lock and a cable to lock the seat and front wheel to the frame and rack. I figure three different locks with differnt key types should make my bike the least inviting target on the rack.
