Windproof Jacket
I came across this jacket in Duluth's catalog. https://www.duluthtrading.com/store/...cessor=content Looks like it would be a great jacket for commuting. Has anyone tried it yet?

Let us know how it works out. My wife bought me Men's ELITE Escape Softshell Jacket | Pearl Izumi Cycling Gear last year. With some thermal layers underneath, it's suited me down to 15 df. I haven't done a full commute lower than that yet. Might happen soon though.

I'm thinking maybe I'm better off without windproof clothing, at least some of the time. One Wednesday, I took a 42 mile ride. It was a cold and windy day. I had four jerseys on, and the wind didn't bother me. Windproof clothing keeps the moisture from sweat inside and ultimately makes me hot.

There's windproof and there's windproof ;> My old supercomputing/seattle waterproof packable topcoat traps sweat. My bicycle raincoat (old, I've forgotten the brand, but probably the old sports authority house brand) doesn't. Those magic "technical" fabrics really do make a difference.

I've gone for fleece sweaters + single layer jacket. It gives me a lot of flexibility, and the fleece goes in the wash every day.
Concept of a covered fleece is good. But here, waterproof is also handy.
