Headwinds will kill you, man. I don't blame you.
Last year I had a headwind so strong I had to pedal DOWNHILL.
A 30 mph headwind going UPHILL? You'd have legs firmer than Michelangelo's statue of David by the time you got home.

Oh but think of the ride back!
A couple weeks ago we had winds that strong in atlanta. In the morning, it made the ride very slow with that much headwind. But in the afternoon... at one hill, the wind was actually strong enough to push me all the way up (added to the momentum I already had). It was great fun.

I had that same wind yesterday for my ride home in Phoenix (was perfectly calm in the morning). 25mph winds with up to 40mph gusts. Luckily it was mostly cross winds for me, the in to the wind part it was really rough. Sadly none of it was tail wind.

Same. Rode north, all crosswind. Had near zero visibility for stretch from the blowing dust across the fields south of Germann. Still had sand in my teeth this morning.

I rode from Chandler to downtown Tempe for an afternoon shift of the annual Tempe Bike count. Sitting there for 2 hours I felt like I just did a long mountain bike ride with all the sand in my teeth and ears. From there my ride home was south and west, with the west parts being very very slow.

Yesterday I had a stiff tailwind pushing me up a steep hill. That’s a rare treat.

last week I rode home and the wind helped me to maintain 28-29MPH up a slightly inclined road. it was amazing. I hope the wind is with me today. I was against me this morning in spots.

It was really pouring when I got up yesterday. Forecast said it would continue well into the day. Definitely a 'nope, not today' kind of day. I went back to bed.
When I got up again, a few hours later, the rain had turned to drizzle. I would have ridden in that, but by this time I was committed to staying home.
