Product Review: FSA Gossamer Mega Exo Compact Crank
Just thought that I would give a quick review of the FSA Gossamer mega Exo Compact Crank.
I swapped this crank for the Bontrager crank that came with my Lemond Propad which was a 170mm length. All of my other bikes have 172.5mm cranks. so I wanted to make my bikes consistent.
I think that the gearng is better for a commuting bike, as the Gossamer has 50x34 and I also got a 36 inner chainring versis the 48x36 for the Bontrager.
The installation was quite easy except for a slight brain fart. I did not tighten one of the pinchbolts enough and came loos on my first commute. The nice thing about the Gossamer mega exo is that it is fully serviced by a torque / star tool and a 4mm hex (e.g can be fixed while commuting). I was able to overcome my brain fart while commuting and made it into work.
The bottom bracket seems to be stiffer trhan the Bontrager. I do not get chain rub, I am not sure if I adjusted the front durailleur better than the LBS mechanic.
For a $157 I highly reccomend the product.

FYI the star tool is called "torx" . "Torque" is what you forgot to apply to the pinchbolt.
