I guess not many folks at your company bike commute. I think the rate of bike commuting is higher in Philly than in NYC. In NYC, it's something like 1%, but we are very visible, and it seems like most lanes have bike lanes. Now they're putting bike boxes in the intersections.
NYC has a newish law that requires workplaces to provide indoor bike parking, but I hear there are a lot of loopholes. I don't know the real deal.

Just noticed your comment about NY law. I'm responsible on the legal side for my company's real estate, including our leases in NYC. I will look into that and I will make sure my company's leases in NYC comply with that.

Love my Merrell Bare Access but definitely not enough sole for riding. I often you "retired" running shoes.

1% of commuters in NYC is still a lot of people. I'm 99% sure we don't have that mode share here where it's lovely to ride a bike 300 days a year

Just normal everyday sneakers. You really don't need anything special when riding a bicycle.
Right now I am wearing some Skechers Sport Men's Sparta 2.0 Training Sneakers.

Yes, 1% is a lot, depending on how you look at it, and it's more than in my 58-year lifetime. DC beats us, and I think Minneapolis is at the top of the US, which, given its climate, is astonishing.
