Got caught in the rain, and I liked it.
Fall is coming. After commuting all summer, I got caught in a cool (66 degree) rain going in and coming home. I kinda liked it. I don't think I got in any wetter than I do on a hot humid summer day. But it was a nice change of pace and surprisingly refreshing!
I'm kinda looking forward to fall, with the cooler crisp weather, lack of humidity, and fall colors. |
Pina Coladas are pretty awesome too.
Supposed to be 100 today here in CA, 103 tomorrow. No fall here yet. :( |
I'm not into yoga...

66F is on the cool end of enjoyable showers, IMHO. But compared to sweating through a 90/90 afternoon, it'd be downright pleasant!
Rain in the 80s is free sweat. |

you two are just too young. Its OK - we probably don't get half your references either...
|
Its fun until its not fun. Although the rain might feel refreshing, don't lose sight of the fact that its significant more dangerous riding in the wet than when its dry. Stay safe.

If it wasn't clear, I *did* get the references, and now the song is stuck in my head... ;) Oh, I was afraid of that. same thing happened to me. Today is hot, humid, windy. Missing that calm quiet day yesterday. |
I got the reference and I'm not even that old...:D
A little of rain is tolerable, and even somewhat enjoyable. A lot of rain is just miserable, warm or not. The nearer your destination the more you can 'enjoy' it. |
Better on the way home then on the way to!
|
Warm rain is nice. Cool rain is refreshing. Cold rain is miserable. In any event, a long full front fender that keeps spray off your toes is really nice, and a rear fender to keep the spray off your back is also nice.
I've been riding with a rain cape for the last couple of years, and it's really nice and cold rain. It's a little hot in warm rain. And it's really nice in heavy rain regardless of the temperature. You don't stay completely dry, you may perspire a little, but you're not getting pelted by the rain. |

I do everything possible to avoid inclement weather. EpicRide is my go-to quick check. I've only been caught in the rain twice, quite warm, hot weather. These were thunderstorms that made the temps plunge 20 degrees or more almost instantly. No rain gear. Not fun! :o

I got caught in a heavy shower this spring. I was hot, so it was nice until my helmets pads started draining and I realized I hadn't washed them since last year.

Yeah, having all that built-up salt wash into your eyes is the worst. That's why I periodically rinse out my helmets. ;)

Rain is always the best...especially in the summer...except on the way to work. Well, used to be anyway. I retired. Now I can decide if I want to ride in it or not.
|
If the forecast predicts rain, just prepare for it.
I carry a cap with a long visor, and already wear wrap around goggles to cover my prescription glasses. I have a garbage bag in my bike bag. I wear croc sandals and have neoprene socks so if my feet get wet I don't care as much if I'm wearing shoes. |

EDIT: There are worse earworms... offhand, I can't think of one though. |
I got caught in the rain on Wednesday; actually my entire town did. We don't get this kind of downpour; 2.24" in under an hour overwhelmed everything. My husband and I were on foot and got home completely soaked through. Not so nice.
