No need to identify yourself when complaining about the DD ad in these emails.

It will be obvious to the recipients that the writer is a clueless, oversensitive yokel without a sense of humor who apparantly reviews commercial/advertisement for "insensitivity" to every dang fool on the block.

Either that or a trial lawyer dreaming up a new business scheme.

Hmm, Monty Python would laugh at you...or argue.."yes it IS an argument"

and by the way, since when is getting bowled over by pedestrians who have cartoon-like superpowers an overwhelming problem in this crazy world we live in....LOL

You're probably the kind of shrill ninny who doesn't think he is killing off the planet by existing and consuming just because he pedals a bike.

Why does the fact that it's a cyclist have anything to do with it? It's plain rude behavior, bordering on assault.

I've been a Dunkin Donuts customer, and I bike commute. Fuel is good. Seems to work just fine for me. No donut shops in Hawaii, unfortunately.

I'm guessing the guy threw something at the guy on the bicycle and he crashed but sense he has his coffee, he's fine. Reminds me of those "Are you gellin?" commercials. Now, if he was in a car, and crashed, and wasn't using a bike, would you still care so much about it?

Nah, it's clearly meant as fantasy:

Aside from bkrownd, how many of DD's regular customers could run fast enough to catch a bike?

So instead of waiting, the guy jumps of the curb into the bike lane and proceed to chase down the bus. In his pursuit of public transportation, he DELIBERATELY shoves a bike commuter out of the bike lane towards the curb. The guy then sits down a the next stop, enjoys his "coffee," then boards the bus.

Although Dunkin' Donuts does not show the bike commuter crashing, the ad displays an obvious and deliberate assult on a cyclist, by a PEDESTRIAN.

he did shove the cyclist. With all that energy from the turbo coffee, why didn't he just jog to work. But at least it was not as bad as the right gaurd powerstripe commercial.

what about that commercial of the SUV dodging the wrecked mountain bike and then driving off with the smashed bike in the foreground? That isn't really offensive though, just lame. I think some of you guys are too uptight about it, if anyone is stupid enough and an ******* enough to watch a dunkin donuts commercial and then push a bicyclist over because of it he probably would've done it eventually anyway, commercial or not.

I just want to point out, by the way, that Tim Horton's is a DD property for you north-of-the-border types who are scared of US hegemony.

Have a nice day.

YAY! A new abbreviation! I gotta vote for Chuck's Donuts in Renton. Great place, WAY better service then the big, national, mail-order shops, even though they are a little more expensive the nation-wide mail-order doughnut shop prices.

Tim Horton's merged with Wendys International in '95 and Dunkin Donuts is a part of U.K.-based Allied Domecq PLC.

Tim Hortons recently came to the MA area when they bought the Bess Eaton chain of donut shops.

To keep on the subject though I found DD's latest ad humorous. Maybe we should go after Dairy Queen for their inhumane treatment of killer bees next.

What do you have against the Klan? (KK means Krispy Kreme, by the way.)

I'll be damned, correct you are. I don't know where I got the idea that Horton's was a DD brand.

I like the KK, but midway through the 3rd donut is when all that sugar really just hits me and I start to get a bit sick.

I agree with P_Saint. I think some of our humor-challenged, up-tight cycling comrades have been riding without a saddle on their seatpost. Lighten-up; no one in charge is going to take seriously trivial/absurd complaints of being offended by such harmless ads.

Thanks to biking, I can clean out a dozen KK donuts with room to spare.
