A little rite of passage

I got yelled at by a cager for the first time today. It was a guy driving a delivery van; he got to a red light behind me, then when he got his chance to pass me, yelled "Stop slowing down traffic!" I yelled back, "I am traffic!"

Nicely done!

I got buzzed not once, but twice by the same guy on the way home yesterday. First on the left, then, one the right , in Midtown Manhattan (I wouldn't think it possible, but it's true!). He yelled at me the second time (OK I noticed the second time) with his window closed so I didn't hear anything.

Hey, that's a good comeback. I'll have to remember that.

That's why I carry a Molotov cocktail in my bottle cage.

I am rarely the target of verbal assault from cagers, but when I am, I find that completely ignoring them works wonders. Unless she's hot, in which case it's a great icebreaker and a chance for me to do my Dr. Phil impersonation. Gets 'em every time

Bikes: oh a bunch.

Yesterday I yelled at a guy driving a pickup that he was slowing me down. He didn't seem to care or didn't hear me.

From: Taking a tip from Siu Blue Wind, I too am typing a lengthy passage of text down here to demonstrate the enormous amount of space available should one wish to use it-- in sharp contrast to the avatar text above this part.

Bikes: '06 Salsa Campeon, '84 Cannondale R1000, 80's Nishiki Ariel

I've managed to have two commercial drivers fired for their actions on the road-- the first was a Kimball's Organs (the instrument, not the body parts) driver who rubbed me with his truck as I was traveling in excess of the speed limit on Gallows Rd. here in Fairfax-- he did it intentionally and then cursed me out a few hundred feet later, so I followed him into the industrial park where I know their store is and took it up with the manager. I was steamed but polite, firm, and told him in no uncertain terms that I couldn't imagine he wanted a hothead like that representing his company on the road. He was fired on the spot. The other driver ran an girlfriend off the road right in front of me (again, intentionally, the asshats were laughing up in the cab) so this time I got the number to the landscaping business for which he was working and also got his ass fired.

Beginner's luck!

The next time someone yells at you, you won't think of a comeback until a few minutes later!
