It's been a while since my last update. I've only got a few more work days before I go on winter break and put a wrap on this year's commuting miles. As it stands now, I'm just 2.2 miles shy of last year's total, which was the most commuting miles I've done since I started my current job about 8 years ago. A storm is coming, but I'll brave the rain at least one more time to set a new personal benchmark before the year ends.

For the 2025 calendar year, my tally with ridewithgps is 1,124.1 miles. A few of those miles were not commuting. I won't bother with separating commuting versus non-commuting miles. I also forgot to record some rides. So that's about it.

I'm not sure how many of my miles were commuting. I tag my commutes as such in Strava, and I can find them with the Activities filter, but it won't add them up for me or just drill down based on year. 
I wound up with 5,933 total miles (9548 km) in 2025 though.

I finally updated my year-end totals to include my last two commute days in December. My commute is only 4.1 miles each way, and I am a school teacher, so I get a lot of days off work each year. Even though my commuting miles are modest compared to some others, I almost never missed a commute day (probably around 10 commutes by car, usually when I had too much to carry or if I had an appointment right after work). Sometimes I do tack on a few extra miles by taking the long way home. All told, I finished 2025 with a new personal best in terms of total commuting miles (1,438.6 miles) since I started my current job 8 years ago. I'm aiming to break 1,500 commuting miles in 2026.
