on two separate spots on my purchased new just 1 month old commuter!!!
arrrgh.. it's on the top tube too! How did it get there in the first place? If it's near the chains, fork or the drive train, I can understand but this is near the seat post facing the top.
I've got almost 500 miles with this bike. Ah well, consider it as a combat scratch.
Good thing my truck is black, so I do have touch up paint that would match my black Sirrus
I don't know how I get it, but how did you get your first scratch on your bike?

Like you, I have no idea how I got my first scratch... However, I considered it a relief, now I don't have to worry about avoiding the first scratch.
I would say don't touch it up... It will be just fine!

My bike's got tons of scrathces, chips, etc. I was thinking about painting it except I'm too lazy to take all the stuff off the frame.

My commuter had a couple of scratches (now six months old) from just general bikelishes fun. But the other day I dropped it while locking it in my garage ( I chain it to a cinder block to at least make the bastard work) the chainring hit the cinder block and bent a tooth inwards. With some help from my mechanic we managed to straighten it up so it only skips with a couple of gear combinations.
Be glad all you have is a scratch.

A gust of wind caught it while I was locking the fork in the roof rack and blew it over before I could catch it. It hit the other bike mount and got a small scratch on the top tube.
The pedal put a small scratch in the roof of the car, but who cares about that?
