Racks that are disc brake friendly?

My LBS tried to affix a standard rack to my Jamis Coda Elite and it failed due to the disc brake setup. Are there specific rack makers who have addressed this need by engineering racks that can work with a disc-brake equipped bicycle?

Check with Wayne at The Touring Store. Tubus has several solutions for bikes like yours, and you won't find any better racks than Tubus.

I was able to put a Blackburn Mountain Rack on my bike with disc brakes, after an Odyssee disc-specific rack didn't fit. So it's very bike-dependant.

I bent the rack stays slightly to go around the disc brake and put a quarter-inch spacer between the frame and the rack.

Axiom also has a disc brake specific model. It's called the Axiom Journey "Disc Brake Compatible" Rear Rack. Your LBS should be able to order it through the QBP catalog.

Thanks for the varied ideas. Hopefully, one of these will work. The bike came equipped with all the braze-ons one would want. I figured maybe Jamis has a particular rack in mind when planning this bike. When I went to Jamis' site to ask a question about racks they had in mind, no email address was offered in it. So, it's Bike Forums to the rescue.

I really like my OMM rack. It's tougher than nails.
