Cleaning Grease from Jacket

Had a flat on way in this morning. 2nd flat in 3 weeks on new armadillos. F'n staples.......

Anyways, being cold and dark Im much more layered up, which makes me much less gracefull it seems in changing a tube. And i ended up getting grease/grunge on the front of my bright yellow Jacket.

Its a Marmot Oracle jacket with Precip material. The grease is....well black and greasy

Anyone have any good tips for removing it ?

Start with 409 or Simple Green. Blot, don't rub. If that fails, try some Goof Off spot remover. Acetone would probably also work well. For solvents, soak a rag and blot the fabric. Get as much out as you can, then wash the jacket according to the care instructions to remove any remaining grease. Pretreating with the 409 or Simple Green would be a good idea.

Go to an auto parts store and buy some degreasing hand cleaner. (I like Gojo brand the best, I prefer the stuff without pumice). Or you could try something like Simple Green which is pretty good at cutting grease but is pretty harmless to the clothing.

Don't laugh. Costco baby wipes. Those things will clean anything. I also carry my inner tubes in baggies and use the baggies to touch greasy parts when possible (usually not 100% effective)

I'll vouch for this. Ever since our first kiddo, I've been amazed at how well baby wipes clean stuff.

I washed my bright yellow gore-tex jacket this week. I just put it in the washing machine with liquid detergent. It went in looking like hell, grease stains and road dirt everywhere and it came out looking new. I don't know if Precip is the same stuff.

You should check your care label. some (most?) breathable membrane fabrics recommend on powdered detergent. Liquid detergent can apparently compromise the waterproofness.
