OK, I'm a wimp!
It's cold, it's raining, whine, whine! Man, I'm such a wimp. It's been cold (for Florida) and raining all week and I haven't ridden a mile. It's supposed to clear up tomorrow, so maybe I'll get motivated then.

fwiw, some things from my own experience:
- biking in rain is nothing like walking in rain.
- what you're wearing probably makes or breaks the experience. if you've got even half-adequate gear, it can rock
- for me the idea of doing it, every ride, is always much much worse than how it feels to do it. sometimes much much much worse.
ymmv, of course. but i do think it would be a shame if you never tried it. speaking as someone who hates being cold, loathes being wet, and lives where something like a metre of rain falls every year.

i love biking in the rain. it's so peaceful and refreshing. the pitter-patter of raindrops on my helmet, the swish as my tires go through a puddle, the feeling of almost being one with nature (except for all the gears and metal between my legs)... it's the damn cars that ruin it.

I am not sure I would make/allow my son to bike in the rain with me. He's nine and still getting his experience. But I found myself caught in the rain the other day... I pulled off the road and put on my cheap rain suit that I bought at some chain store for $5 and went off down the road. Now, it was unseasonably warm that day so that helped. But it was so much FUN!! I felt like I was doing something naughty
