Commuter Thief Caught on Camera!

Just got my Wal-Mart bike this week (yes, I know, but I'm just using it for commuting until I can save up enough for a "real" bike). Hadn't had it for more than 3-4 hours before I caught this thief trying to steal it!

So, what's a good "punishment" for this would-be bike thief?

Just having a little fun here folks. the kittens both LOVE my bike!

My blue & gold macaw (Chico) tries to eat my bicycle every time he gets near it. He bites the tires, the pedals, climbs all over it. So far I've managed to keep him away from the stuff he could damage with that big strong beak, but it's probably just a matter of time before he gets to the Brooks or the handlebar wrap.

Ha!
When I brought home a new Davinci Monaco, I parked it in the livingroom, so I could admire it that evening. At $1,200, it was the most I had ever spent on a bicycle. In the morning the leather covered saddle had fang marks all over it.
Ici had decided I needed a perforated saddle.

When I purchased my Trek 520, we had two new kittens in the house. They left little teeth marks on my barend shifters, so they are with me on every ride.

If I ever leave my bike shorts, socks, or jerseys that I have used the cat rubs all in them. It's terrible because it makes her head smell like bike shorts. Then she goes crazy and attacks us (playfully) and runs around the house. It's pretty damn funny to see.

Oh, btw I'm surprised to see a wally bike that isn't full suspension. I wish they would sell them with semi-slick tires and racks.

That's so cute! I'm allergic to cats even though I love them. Thanks for sharing the photo -- it's one way to enjoy them without sneezing!

Or maybe just getting a good look at the calendar on the wall. I like how the bike is color-coordinated to the cat, that was some smart shopping

Actually I would give the offender some community-service work, maybe some tummy warming while you lie on the couch.

Don't tick off the cat... they have their ways of getting even. Among the more pedestrian are scratch/bite/spray....

Let the cat know that you are only borrowing the bike until you can upgrade it.

You should seriously consider a sheepskin cover for the seat and the cat will find ways to reward you... may even pay attention to you!

just pick up the cat and kiss the cat too many times for it to stay alive... that's all you have to do.

Check this "world traveled cat" from San Diego. Someone is willing to give him up. Too bad I can't have a cat b/c of apartment regulations. He would crack me up every time I see him.

Yes, I know they're scum. BUT, the nearest LBS (or ANY other place that sells bikes) is about 100 miles away, and I needed wheels like NOW.

Actually, that's a scented candle (raspberry). The cats chew on it every time we turn our backs.

I'm actually considering making a cat-carrier when I get my rack and basket for the bike.

As for everyone concerned about me riding a Wal-Mart bike, while it's not the top-of-the-line, it's good enough for now. And the FIRST thing I did when I got it home was dismantle it completely, check out ALL the parts, and reassemble it.

The front brakes weren't connected, the handlebars were on backwards, and the shifter for the RD wasn't attached. But it's in ridable shape now.
